1957 Aermacchi Chimera restoration project – a “Show Us Yours” post

Chris M. from Manchester Center, Vermont

The bike was found inside a "Trullo" in Alberobello, Italy. It was driven daily up to middle 70's then parked. The last owner has bought it and brought it to Genova.  Christian from Carollo Moto Classiche  swapped it for a racing Aermacchi, than sold it to us in March of 2016. We had it shipped over to USA from Bassano del Grappa, Italy.  It took just over 8 weeks to get the bike.  We showed the Chimera twice before our restoration began, once at Hemmings in Bennington (see  pic in Hemmings Motor News), and at the Manchester Dorr Car show 2016.

FYI - Trullo
trullo (plural, trulli) is a traditional Apulian dry stone hut with a conical roof. Their style of construction is specific to the Itria Valley, in the Murge area of the Italian region of Apulia.
